Hi! I'm Art Grand, responsible for the photos on this website. I have been taking pictures since I was about eight years old. I remember taking a simple Kodak Brownie camera to school for "show and tell," explaining, "This is just an open and shut case."
With no instruction, but a real curiosity, I snapped many pictures of my family and outdoor scenes in New Jersey, around the house and on vacation. As I grew up, vacation pictures became my "quest." I learned that not every picture comes out the way you want, so I took lots of photos and selected only the better ones to show. "You must have a really good camera," friends would say. In truth, the secret was in the experimentation, in trial and error and learning from mistakes. When I became more serious about photography, starting about six years ago, I enrolled in photography classes and workshops, joined NANPA (North American Nature Photography Association) and studied the work of other photographers. And I continued to take "a lot" of pictures. If you are interested in learning about how I take my pictures, read my Technical Info.
